It is easy and inexpensive to get around Basil via public transportation. Purchase bus or tram tickets in advance. Tourists staying at the city's hotels can get a "Mobility Ticket" which entitles you to complimentary use of all public transportation during your stay.

Since most of the tourist attractions are located in the historic center of the city, it is easiest to tour Basel on foot. Another good option is to rent a bike at the rail station next to the information center.
