However, be aware that most major Australian cities are far from Perth, about 48 hours to Melbourne and 60 hours to Sydney.
By Car:
The Eyre Highway crosses Australia from Port Augusta in South Australia to Norseman in Western Australia. Take Coolgardie-Esperance Highway north to Coolgardie and then the Great Eastern Highway to Perth.
Getting Around:

The ferries operate daily from 6:45a-7:15p between Barrack Street Jetty, Mends Street Jetty, with limited services to Coode St Jetty.
