Getting Around

By Bus:

A public bus service is operated by the Kuwait Transport Company within the city and its outskirts. Fares range from 50-300 fils ( 1 Kuwaiti Dinar = 1000 fils ). Bus services are available to other parts of Saudi Arabia and to Egypt also.

Taxis and Car Rentals:

Kuwaiti taxis that ply the roads are orange in color with red license-platesâ€"you can hail one down whenever you please. You can also opt for radio-controlled taxis. Rates are standard city-wide, and it is not customary to tip the drivers.

Car-rental companies will let you have a car for as much as KD8 a day; if you require a driver as well, it can go up to around KD38. Third party insurance with a local agency is compulsory.
