This restaurant offers more than what meets the eye. The downtown storefront interior opens up into three brick-lined rooms. Although Abou Karim might be the ideal spot for a clandestine rendezvous, the furnishings are not overdone. The food is authentic and although most of the dishes are for meat eaters, vegetarians, too, can get their fill of Middle Eastern delights. The Mezze, an appetizer sampler, is great for groups of four.
