The Bakers traveled to Oregon City, in 1846, and soon became an integral part of this area by way of Horace Baker's trade as a stone mason. Many of Oregon City's most notable structures were created from his basalt quarry, including the amazing Willamette Falls Locks and the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse. The Baker Cabin, a two-story cabin (made without the use of nails or pegs) was built by Horace, in 1856, and occupied by the Bakers until 1901. Call for tour and admission information.
