Laurel Ridge Winery was Oregon's first commercial winery, established by immigrants in 1883. The vineyards sit on country hills between Portland and the coastal mountain range. Since 1986 the winery has been operated by David and Susan Teppola, and the winery produces a diverse selection of white, red, and sparkling wines. The 1991 Brut should not be missed. The tasting facilities are closed in January, but the weather is typically dreary that time of year anyway.
