One of Oregon's best natural attractions is whale watching. Resident whales can be spotted throughout the year and the winter migration is spectacular. From December through January, gray whales make their way south to the warmer waters of California and Mexico. During this week between Christmas and New Year's Day, volunteers will help you spot the ocean nomads at 24 lookouts on the Oregon Coast. The festival continues Spring Break when the whale families make their way back north. The event is free.
