Portland's first Dragon Race was staged during the 1989 Rose Festival. Every year since then, local and international businesses, as well as high schools and other organizations, have competed. Brightly decorated for battle, these dragon boats exemplify the fierce friendship that runs through Portland's community and abroad. View the races from Waterfront Park, where you'll find the best seats in town, or pick one of the city's bridges to watch over the festivities. The Portland-Kaosiung Sister City Association sponsors the event.
