You might think anyone wanting to run in the cold Berlin weather in January is insane, but on New Year’s Day every year a fun run takes place along Unter den Linden and a surprising number of people take part. Everyone is welcome to join in the four-kilometer run - at his/her own pace - and there is no need to register or pay a fee, although any donations made will go to UNICEF. For more information contact the event organizer SCC Running by phone or e-mail. The run starts at noon at the Brandenburg Gate and runners can join the race up until 12:48p.
