This two-hour excursion into the hills of the ranching center at Koele takes visitors back to the ranching hey day of Lanai that flourished between 1874 and 1951. The two-hour horse ride, offered year-round, features guava groves, ironwood trees and a glimpse of wildlife that includes deer, quail, wild turkeys and of course, cattle. Once reached, the hilltops provide onlookers a spectacular view of the Kanepu'u forest as well as Lanai City. Some riding experience is recommended and reservations are required.
