Ring in the New Year with members of the polar bear club. This wild, yet "unfurry" group is brave enough to tread the icy waters of Easton's Beach, all in the spirit of fun and charity; in previous years, the polar bears have raised upwards of USD8,000 for the Olivia Fund and the Duffy Dwyer Scholarship Fund! This local event draws 5,000-6,000 spectators, as well as 200-300 swimmers, who can't wait to join in the frigid fun. The icy splash takes place at noon, with an after party that includes prizes, dancing and music. Donations to charities accepted; no admission fee.
