This week long January/February celebration of Hungarian cinema takes place at the Corvin, Puskin and Kultiplex theaters, and accepts a wide variety of entrants in various genres including features, shorts, experimental films and documentaries. Much more than a film festival, Hungarian Film Week also features seminars for those in the industry, and discussions on specific films, directors and trends in the national movie scene. Past winners have included Ibolya Fekete's "Chico," a widely-acclaimed epic about various late-20th-century wars and revolutions. Ticket prices are set in early winter.
