In answer to the Prunksitzungen (festive carnival ceremonies) and Stunksitzungen (carnival ceremony parodies) Cologne, with its traditional Karneval obsession, now also has the Rosa Sitzung, for gay and lesbian karnevalists. Various entertainers and a house band create a festive mood. Lots of parties accompany the Sitzung, which is now a part of the Köln Karneval experience.
