First introduced to Latin America at the end of the 17th Century, bullfighting has come to be the main event of the festivities commemorating the foundation of Quito. These celebrations, which take place at the end of November, draw large crowds to Quito's famous bullring, the Plaza de Toros. The world's best bullfighters meet in this arena, where they are cheered by enthusiastic bullfight fans. Tickets are available for sale from July.
