If you are lucky enough to be on the island then, enjoy the sounds of calypso, steel bands and the big drum and fife corps that virtually fill the island. Masquerade troupes are seen everywhere doing their special dances. The children's troupes are not to be missed. Learn about traditional folklore and culture from the Bull, Mocko Jumbies, clowns and string bands. Throughout the island, you can find some of the best West Indian cuisine like black pudding, goat water, conchs, Johnny cakes, roti and more. It is one big party with music and dancing in the streets. But there is more going on than just the street festivals; there are the competitions: the Queen Show, the Calypso Monarch Competition and the Caribbean Talented Teen Competition. Carnival is not to be missed!
