The annual Boxing Day Junkanoo Celebration parade evokes thoughts of New Orleans' Mardi Gras celebrations, but with a Caribbean twist. Participating troupes, musical groups and bands of costumed participants in colorful and elaborate costumes, dance, prance and gyrate up and down the streets of downtown Nassau, creating a spectacle you'll never forget. The parade kicks off at 1a and lasts just a couple of hours, but the celebration continues until daylight. Bleacher tickets cost between USD10 and USD25, but you can find a spot along the street for free.
