Every year the residents and business community in conjunction with the tourism board officially roll out the red carpet for Nevis visitors. The event is usually held in February. Activities include all day celebrations at Charlestown bars and restaurants, horse races, cultural exhibitions, culinary demonstrations, and live music. Sobriety is neither expected nor recommended. Tourists from nearby islands (mainly from St. Kitts) converge to join in on the festivities. See their website for further details.
