Christmas is celebrated in Boracay with eating and merrymaking. Most of the hotels on the island are fully booked with both foreign and local guests; many offer a special Christmas lunch or dinner, usually a buffet of native and Western delicacies. Resorts along White Beach are festooned with multicolored lights, adding to the beauty of the balmy tropical nights on the island. Some display a life-size Santa Claus in a sleigh pulled by reindeer—an amusingly incongruous sight on the snow-white sand.
