In January each year, the residents of Bor Sang, a small village six kilometers east of Chiang Mai, holds this annual, three day Umbrella Festival to celebrate the products that have made the place famous. Pickup trucks are smothered with brightly colored parasols and fans, and the locals dress up in their finest traditional outfits to join in the parade. Since the weather is always bright and sunny at this time of year, it is a great chance to take some photos, as well as purchase a souvenir to take home with you.
