El Carmen and nearby Chincha are host to several fiestas throughout the year, and the party doesn't stop at Christmas. While most of the country celebrates the yuletide season with prayers, these towns host raucous celebrations that last throughout Christmas day and into the night. Join revelers for the excitement and be treated to excellent examples of Afro-Peruvian music and dance. Most clubs charge about USD5 as a cover charge and stay open all night. While accommodations can be found in both towns, many Lima residents party the night away and then take an early bus back to the capitol city.
